Instant adventure: what it feels like to fly a real drone from your sofa

By the Dronify team · Updated September 2026 · 4 minute read

Adventure usually asks a lot of you before it gives anything back. You plan, you book, you pack, you travel — and somewhere at the end of all that, if the weather holds, there is a view. Dronify removes everything except the view.

Here is what actually happens. You open your browser and pick a place — a stretch of coastline, a forest, a harbor at sunset. A real drone is waiting there in its dock, charged and ready. You press Fly. The dock opens, the drone climbs on its own to a safe height, and then the controls are yours: the picture on your screen is coming live from a camera that is genuinely in the air, in that place, right now, moving where you tell it to.

The moment it clicks

The first minute feels like a video game, and that familiarity is the point — if you have ever moved a character with WASD keys, you already know how to fly. Then something on the ground moves on its own — a bird lifts off a rooftop, waves break against a jetty, wind pushes through a treeline — and the understanding lands: this is not rendered. This is a camera, in the weather, a hundred kilometers or a thousand kilometers from your chair. That moment is the product.

An expedition that fits in a lunch break

Because there is no travel, the whole shape of "going somewhere" changes. A Dronify flight starts in under a minute and ends whenever you want — the drone flies itself home and recharges for the next person. You can circle a mountain ridge between two meetings. You can show a friend the sea on a Tuesday evening. The adventure stops being an event you plan and becomes something closer to opening a window.

Nobody has to trust your piloting

The honest question every new pilot asks is: what if I crash it? You will not. Every Dronify location is mapped in 3D before it opens, and the system's flight envelope stops the drone before any obstacle or boundary, no matter what you do with the controls. Take-off and landing are automatic, and if you close the tab mid-flight, the drone simply returns to its dock on its own. You steer the adventure; the safety never depended on you.

What it costs

Dronify is €9 a month — one plan, every location, unlimited flying, paid monthly in advance, cancelled anytime with no fee. That is less than a single tank of fuel toward the mountains, for a subscription to the view itself.
